    Purpose of position: The advancement intern will be responsible for assisting with the day-to-day activities and overall strategic goals of the Advancement team. This internship is designed to be both educational and practical. The goal of this internship will be for the candidate to gain a better understanding of the role Advancement can play in a nonprofit setting and be better prepared to work in the advancement, development and marketing fields and the nonprofit sector.

    Responsibilities

    Projects:

    • Create social media content to support Rise’s social media strategy and support year-end fundraising goals using social media.
    • Collaborate with Advancement team and program directors to update all website content to accurately reflect current program offerings.
    • Assist in the creation and rollout of all new brochures and marketing materials.
    • Learn Rise’s PrintStore system for marketing collateral and promotional items and train end users on its use.
    • Organize grant writing resources including templates and attachments, conduct grant research, and submit smaller grants with support.
    • Assist with the daily and specialty projects to recruit, coordinate, and track volunteers.
    • Provide general office support including filing and data entry.

    Qualifications & Benefits

    Qualifications:

    • Currently enrolled in a graduate or undergraduate degree program.
    • Competencies or previous experience in organizational development, nonprofit management, marketing, or adult education.
    • Passion and aptitude for working in advancement, or non-profit management/ administrative fields.
    • A self-starter who proactively handles challenges and issues as they occur.
    • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, and internet applications including data entry experience.
    • Strong attention to details and organizational skills.
    • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
    • Strong team player with high energy, drive, and a positive attitude.
    • Ability to maintain confidentiality.
    • Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with many different activities and projects happening simultaneously.
    • Compliance with DHS background check and fingerprinting.

    Time Commitment:

    • Full or part-time available.
