    The purpose of this internship is to support Rise’s development functions by assisting in the creation of two different special event fundraisers: Tapping into Possibilities (Brewery event – June 12) and Celebrate Rise Gala (October 21).

    • Assist in planning and implementing fundraising events.
    • Solicit in-kind donations for auction items and prizes through letters, phone, email, and face-to-face communications.
    • Ensure commitments and payments are properly acknowledged by preparing thank you letters and tax receipts to donors.
    • Promote special events and development goals through email and social media, including the creation of original content
    • Track sponsorships, donations, guests, and materials through database updates into DonorPerfect and Excel spreadsheets in addition to filing donation paperwork.

    Qualifications & Benefits


    • Strong written, oral communications and interpersonal skills needed
    • Highly organized, self-directed, and detail-oriented personality with excellent time management skills
    • Understanding of Windows Office suite, ideally with preference to Office 365
    • Background in marketing, communications, philanthropy, nonprofit management or event planning preferred
    • Must have access to a car for mobility to pick up prizes


    • Apply development knowledge into practice in nonprofit environment
    • Develop relationships with sponsors and donors
    • Help drive mission of the organization
    • $500 stipend depending on commitment and qualifications

    Time Commitment:

    • 20 hours per week
    • Tentative start late May/early June
