    Responsibilities

    A part of both the HR and Advancement teams, the volunteer and recruitment coordinator supports the growth of key organizational initiatives around recruitment and volunteerism, conducts outreach with business and community partners and coordinates the day to day operations of the volunteer program and team member recruitment efforts.

     

    Community Outreach (20%)

    • Represent Rise at career, internship and volunteer fairs, conferences and other networking events to recruit for team members, interns and volunteers
    • Build and maintain relationships with community partners for outreach and referral sources
    • Research opportunities for additional outreach and recruitment efforts

     Recruiter (40%)

    • Manage applicant tracking system, iCIMS, including drafting, approving and scheduling job postings
    • Coordinate administrative staff and volunteers to post jobs on external job boards
    • Train hiring managers on hiring processes and utilizing iCIMS
    • Provide thought leadership on recruitment at Rise and engage with program supervisors on best practices for recruiting new team members.
    • Coordinate, attend and evaluate job fairs
    • Conduct presentations on industry positions to schools and community partners
    • Send regular email blasts and flyers to community partners about job openings
    • Research opportunities for additional recruitment efforts
    • Collaborate with HR team to develop and enact talent pipeline and management strategies

    Volunteer Coordinator (40%)

    • Recruit, screen, onboard and train volunteers for opportunities across organization
    • Train volunteer supervisors on best practices for utilizing and engaging volunteers
    • Strategically develop new volunteer opportunities based on program needs and in collaboration with program supervisors
    • Conduct recruitment and outreach efforts for volunteer opportunities by posting on volunteer engagement websites and attending fairs. Send out specific recruitment appeals for event and volunteer needs
    • Manage volunteer database, Volgistics, and track and report out on volunteer program data
    • Develop volunteer communications including regular newsletters, social media posts and highlight volunteer stories.
    • Network with other volunteer administrators to stay up to date on volunteer engagement best practices
    • Coordinate volunteer and intern recognition program
    • Lead internship program including organizing the summer cohort model with bi-weekly check ins

     

    Qualifications & Benefits

    Qualifications:

    • Bachelors degree or equivalent relevent experience (humanities or business degrees preferred)
    • 1+ years of experience working with volunteers strongly preferred
    • Previous experience in HR functions, recruitment strongly preferred 
    • Strong interpersonal and relationship building skills 
    • Good oral and written communication, including public speaking
    • Ability to think quickly and solve problems as they arise 
    • High attention to detail and strong organizational skills  
    • Proficiency with full Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Word, Excel, Powerpoint and Outlook
    • Valid drivers license and compliance with Rule 11 and MVR background check required

     

    Benefits: 

    Starting wage $17 per hour, DOQ
