    The purpose of this position is to assist in managing the day-to-day operations of the transportation department and ensure excellent transportation service for people with disabilities.

    Responsibilities

    • Scheduling – Plan routes and schedule drivers to provide the most efficient service to people we serve. Resolve and missed pick-ups and or schedule any additional pick-ups as needed. Serve as primary backup for driving coverage as needed. .
    • Routing - Partner with program team members to determine pick-up points and time schedules. Respond to driver reports of problem pick-ups such as unsafe conditions or potential hazardous materials. C
    • Vehicle Maintenance - Schedule routine maintenance, oversees, and arranges for repairs. Maintain all maintenance records on vehicles. Maintain vehicle mileage records. Assist with developing vendors for maintenance work. Maintain adequate level of supplies for vehicles.
    • Safety - Ensures that all accident reports are fully completed and sent to the insurance company. Stay current of state laws and certification requirements with respect to vehicle and driver requirements.
    • Lead others in focusing on providing excellent service for people served, their families, and all other people who support them; etc.
    • Build and maintain a positive, effective work environment and manage team performance through direction, feedback, training and professional development
    • Drive for results through establishing realistic plans, meeting or exceeding goals, manage and improve processes and budget
    • Set schedule for team to ensure adequate staffing and maintain any applicable driving schedules at all times. Provide backup coverage to your team as needed.
    • Partner with the Transportation Director in the hiring process for team members including updating job postings, setting performance expectations and following Rise’s interviewing and selection process

    Qualifications & Benefits

    Qualifications:

    • 2 years of related work experience. 1 year in a supervisory role preferable
    • Previous experience with transportation routing strongly preferred
    • Previous experience practicing person-centered practices with people with disabilities or other barriers to employment preferred
    • Strong self-management, thinking and interpersonal skills
    • Ability to direct and motivate others, perseverance and compassion for team members and the people we serve
    • Proficient reporting and data analytic skills required
    • Proficient with Microsoft Office software (Excel, Word, etc.) and interest to learning and become proficient in new systems
    • Current, valid driver's license and driving record that demonstrates safe, legal driving habits
