The purpose of this internship is to support Rise’s development and marketing functions by assisting in the creation of two different special event fundraisers:  Celebrate Rise Fundraising Gala (October 22) and a second event (TBD).

Responsibilities

  • Assist in planning and implementing fundraising events
  • Solicit in-kind donations for auction items and prizes through letters, phone, email, and face-to-face communications
  • Promote special events and development goals through email and social media, including the creation of original content
  • Track sponsorship, donations, guests, and materials through database updates into DonorPerfect and Excel spreadsheets in addition to filing donation paperwork
  • Ensure commitments and payments are properly acknowledged by preparing thank you letters and tax receipts to donors
  • Conduct special projects for Development department such as developing content and communications for a sustaining donor campaign or the Give to the Max Day campaign
  • Support Celebrate Rise Gala Committee co-chairs and members
  • Work with Volunteer Coordinator to recruit special event volunteers and support them during the events

Qualifications & Benefits

Qualifications:

  • Strong written, oral communications and interpersonal skills needed
  • Highly organized, self-directed, and detail-oriented personality with excellent time management skills
  • Background in marketing, communications, philanthropy, non-profit management or event planning preferred
  • Must have access to a car for mobility to pick up prizes

  • $500 (part-time) - $1,000 (full-time) stipend depending on commitment and qualifications

Time Commitment:

  • 20 – 40 hours per week
